This Saturday I had the pleasure of visiting the Shepards Cove Womens Shelter to assist the Prince George’s County Young Democrats (PGCYD) Annual Help4Hygiene project. For three years, the Prince George’s County Young Democrats have collected Hygiene products from people and organizations within the community to distribute to needy families.
During its inaugural year I assisted the organization by using City Hall as a drop-off location for donated hygiene products. Each year thereafter the event has grown as a result of the dedicated work of the membership for the PGCYD.

Hundreds of women and their children have benefited as a result of this annual program. It was an honor for me to lend my name and support for such a worthwhile endeavor that benefit so many in need during these challenging times.
It was also a pleasure to connect with young people who are committed to making a difference in the community. These young people were part of the inspiration for the #MobileMayor initiative because as elected officials we must find ways to stay connected with our youth. I’m looking forward to doing even more! Stay tuned.
